District cooling system that uses residual heat

The district cooling system uses residual heat similarly to district heating, providing cooling to non-residential buildings in Tartu. There are two plants, one cooling the city centre’s buildings and using the river as a means for cooling. The other plant is situated on the southern border of the city and provides cooling for Lõunakeskus. District cooling is more efficient than on-site cooling devices, is silent, and eliminates heat islands in the city.

In cooperation with Gren (previously Fortum Tartu).
